Engagement Rings

Find Your Ring Size

A comfortable fit starts with a careful measurement.

A ring should slide over the knuckle with slight resistance and sit securely without pinching. A professional sizing is the most reliable measurement.

Three editorial views of a real hand wearing a refined engagement ring securely at rest, over the knuckle and in movement

01 · What a correct fit feels like

Secure. Comfortable. Considered.

A well-fitted ring rests securely at the base, passes over the knuckle with light resistance and stays composed in natural movement.

Hand shape, knuckle size, band width, temperature and time of day can affect fit. The same numerical size can feel different in a narrow band and a wider one.

At the Base

The ring sits securely without pinching.

Over the Knuckle

It passes with light resistance.

In Movement

It does not slip freely or spin constantly.

02 · Method one

Measure an existing ring.

Choose a ring that fits the intended finger. Measure straight across the widest point of the empty center, from inner edge to inner edge, in millimeters.

Do not include the metal itself. A caliper is more reliable than reading a ruler by eye.

03 · Method two

Measure your finger carefully.

Use a flexible sizing strip or a narrow, non-stretch paper strip. Do not pull it overly tight. Measure more than once when your hands are at a comfortable, normal temperature.

If the knuckle is significantly larger than the finger base, consider both measurements. Professional sizing is preferred when uncertain.

Around the intended finger without pulling overly tight.

  2. 02

    Mark the meeting point

Keep the strip level and smooth as you mark the overlap.

  3. 03

    Measure the length

Lay the strip flat and read that length in millimeters.

    Compare the result

Use the chart or calculator, then repeat to confirm.

05 · Band width & fit

The same size can feel different.

Wider bands generally feel more snug than narrower bands at the same nominal size because more metal contacts the finger.

There is no universal size increase. Confirm the intended band width, whether rings will be stacked, and how the complete design feels.

06 · Fit factors

Measure the hand you have, in the life you live.

Measure more than once and consider the ring as a complete design—not only a number.

Temperature

Cold can make fingers smaller; heat can make them swell.

Time of day

Measurements can vary over the day. Compare more than once.

Knuckle size

A larger knuckle may require balancing passage and base fit.

Dominant hand

The same finger can differ between hands.

Band width

Wider bands often feel more snug than narrow bands.

07 · Sizing support

Prefer certainty?

A private fitting lets a specialist compare sizes, band widths and the intended design with you.

A mailed complimentary ring sizer is not currently offered on this page because fulfillment terms remain under review.

07 · Resizing

Confirm what the design allows.

Resize potential depends on metal, construction, accent coverage, engraving and the amount of change required.

Common questions

Questions, considered.

What if I am between sizes?

The best choice depends on knuckle-to-base difference, band width and whether the ring will be stacked. Compare adjacent sizes with a specialist rather than relying on a universal size-up rule.

Does ring width affect fit?

Yes. Wider bands often feel more snug than narrow bands at the same measured size.

Can all rings be resized?

No. Full-eternity bands, extensive pavé, certain engravings and structurally complex designs may have limited or no resize capacity.

When should I measure?

Measure more than once when your hands are at a comfortable, normal temperature. Avoid relying on a single reading when unusually cold or swollen.

Can I use another ring?

Yes, if it fits the intended finger. Measure its internal diameter only and treat the result as approximate.

What if this is a surprise proposal?

A ring worn on the same finger can offer a clue, but sizing varies between hands and designs. A specialist can discuss discreet options without promising an exact result.
