Pavé and Accent Diamonds
Small diamonds, thoughtfully set, can transform the light, texture, and architecture of a ring.

01 · The distinction
A treatment and the stones within it.
Pavé and accent diamonds are related ideas, but they do not mean exactly the same thing.

Pavé
Small diamonds set closely together to create a continuous surface or line of sparkle along a band or setting.
Accent Diamonds
Secondary diamonds used to frame, support, or enhance the center design, adding detail, dimension, and brilliance.
02 · Setting methods
Construction changes the line of light.
Each study below isolates a different way of securing small diamonds. These are educational examples, not named or currently offered products.

Bead Pavé
Tiny beads of metal secure closely set diamonds, creating a fine, continuous surface of sparkle.

Scalloped Pavé
Cut-away metal between stones creates a scalloped profile, revealing more of each diamond from the side and producing a lighter visual rhythm.

Shared Prong
Adjacent diamonds share prongs between stones, reducing visible metal and creating a clean line of closely connected brilliance.

Channel
Diamonds sit between two parallel metal walls, creating a smooth, protected row with a more architectural profile.
03 · Accent diamond quality
Origin and grade, disclosed independently.
Accent origin can be selected independently from the center diamond when the design supports that choice. Natural and laboratory-grown accents are presented without hierarchy.
Nicotalya’s current V2 architecture uses laboratory-grown D–F / VS melee. Supported natural round melee options are H–I / SI, H–I / VS, F–G / SI, and F–G / VS.
| Origin | Shape scope | Current quality ranges |
|---|---|---|
| Laboratory-grown | Melee | D–F / VS |
| Natural | Round melee | H–I / SI · H–I / VS · F–G / SI · F–G / VS |

04 · Total carat weight
Accent CTW belongs to the supporting diamonds.
Accent CTW is the combined weight of the supporting diamonds, not the center stone. The total varies with stone count, dimensions, coverage and construction.
There is no universal accent CTW. Product-specific values are authoritative; this photograph is illustrative.
05 · How setting style changes the look
One idea, four expressions.
Small changes in accent placement can shift a ring from restrained to luminous, architectural or dimensional.

Minimal / no pavé
A plain shank keeps the center as the clearest point of focus.
Pavé shoulders
A close line of small diamonds draws light toward the center.
Hidden halo
Accent detail sits beneath the center and becomes most apparent in profile.
Side stones
Distinct supporting diamonds broaden the face-up composition.
06 · Care and maintenance
Small settings deserve a closer look.
Small accent settings should be inspected periodically. Avoid high-impact activities while wearing the piece.
If a stone feels loose or a prong catches unexpectedly, stop wearing the piece, store it safely and contact Nicotalya.
